There are several types of haunting's, but to make things simple we will break it down
into three basic categories. The three categories are: Residual, Intelligent, and Inhuman
and they will be explained below.
Residual Haunting: The most common form of haunting
This type is probably the most common type of haunting, because of its characteristics
it is sometimes confused with an intelligent haunt. Like an intelligent haunting, residual haunts
will have phantom footsteps, sounds, images, and scents. The major difference with this
haunting and that of an intelligent haunt is that this type of haunting is not considered
to be that of a ghost, and there is no interaction with the living. It is believed to be the dissipation
of stored energy from the site. The theory is that energy is stored or absorbed at the site
through repetitive or traumatic events. Then like a tape player the energy stored in the magnetic
field of the environment is then discharged and the events are played out. There is a theory that
events such as storms, and other environmental conditions can trigger these events to occur.
There is also a quantum physics theory relates energy to light particles that are dormant until
they are stimulated by an outside variable under the proper conditions. Researchers have
have observed that eventually the energy will diminish over time until it is exhausted, or the
levels are so low that the event no longer occurs.
Intelligent Haunting: A rare occurence
This is what most people think of when they hear a house is haunted. This type of spirit
was once human and for whatever reason wishes to communicate. The spirit will interact
with the environment opening and closing doors, making noises when asked, move stuff ,
appears as apparitions and exhibit voice interaction. They can exhibit emotional traits
like when they were human this includes fear, anger, sadness, etc. These spirits can be
unnerving at best but rarely harmful .
The Inhuman Haunting: The rarest and potentially the most dangerous
The spirit involved has never been a human being, many religions have tried to explain these
entities by calling them demons, devils, etc. The fact is we do not know what they are all
we know is through the findings and experiences of paranormal investigation. We know that
they can take any form they wish usually half human half animal. They have an uncanny ability to
know things about you and will use it against you, they thrive on fear, have an ability to possess
the living and have great strength and tend to be physically violent. They are accompanied by a
foul odor and can emit a sound the seems to come from every direction at once. If this is happening
